My name is Daniel. About 20 years ago, medical conditions limited my mobility. Then I discovered electric bicycles, e-bikes, which put me back on the road, and started a long quest learning to repair old motors and replace dead battery bundles (24v, 36v, 48v, etc). Then I started to install my own motor kits like the mid-drive Bafang bbs02, a couple hub motors, and, of course, some custom lighting for fun.

Along the way, I worked through an Arduino tutorial to learn more about electrical functions and systems and picked up some rudimentary programming know-how for the Arduino. With this under my hat, I progressed to building lithium batteries and incorporating them into my projects with the guidance of an excellent book by Micah Toll and, thanks to the Internet, other international experts,.

About five years ago, someone asked if I could take a look at their mobility scooter. In doing so, I realized these scooters are fundamentally the same as any ebike and I could fix them pretty readily. After a couple dozen or so fixes, that same someone said I should, “Start a business.” So I did. Welcome to mobilityflorence, llc.

My shop now includes many tools specific to mobility scooters and e-bikes and all of their fundamental parts. I continue to build inventory, add tools, improve my skills, and keep my knowledge current. I feel the use of micro mobility electric vehicles deserves a place in our lives and my long standing goal of “spreading the word” and encouraging the experience remains strongly in place.
